Making prepaid calls

To make a prepaid toll-free or economy call:

  1. Using any touch tone phone, dial the access number for the country you are calling from, then follow the voice prompts.
  2. Enter your ekit account number, then press #.
  3. Enter your PIN, then press #.
  4. Press 2 at the main menu to make a call.
  5. When prompted enter the country code (e.g. 1 for US), area code (without the leading 0) and phone number of the person you wish to call, then press # to be connected.

Do not dial the International Direct Dialing (IDD) prefix before the country code (e.g. do not dial 011 before the country code when calling from or to the US)

Making InternetCalls

InternetCall lets you make calls directly from your computer to anyone, anywhere in the world for as low as 2c per minute.

To make an InternetCall from your computer:

  1. Log in to the ekit website with your account number and PIN.
  2. Click InternetCall in the side navigation menu.
  3. Click the link to open the dial pad in a new window.
  4. WAIT 30 seconds for a line to be opened.
  5. Enter the country code, area code and phone number of the person you wish to call.
  6. Click Call
    * To cancel the call, click Cancel.
    * To end the call, click Hang-up.

Note: Do not dial the International Direct Dialing (IDD) prefix before the country code (e.g. do not dial 011 before the country code when calling from or to the US).

Making Callback calls

Callback lets you make international calls using a landline phone from over 140 countries to anywhere in the world for cheaper per minute rates than our toll-free service.

To make a callback call:

  1. Using any touch tone phone, dial the International Direct Dialing (IDD) prefix for the country you are in followed by 44-207-984-2142
    * International call charges apply.
  2. When prompted, enter the country code, area code (without the leading 0) and phone number you wish to be called back on, then press # and hang up.
  3. After 20 seconds, your phone will call back. Answer the phone as normal.
    * You will be connected to the ekit phone service.
  4. When prompted, enter your ekit account number and PIN.
  5. Press 2 at the Main menu to make a call.
  6. Enter the country code (e.g. 1 for US), area code (without the leading 0) and phone number of the person you wish to call, then press # to be connected.
Tips:
To use Callback from a hotel that uses a switchboard, ask the Hotel Operator to transfer the Callback call to your room. Refer to the Calling tips or print a Country User Guide.

Our alternative Callback Access number does not incur international call charges, but works from fewer phones. To make a callback call using our Alternate Callback access number:

  1. Using any touch tone phone, dial the International Direct Dialing (IDD) prefix for the country you are in followed by 44-207-984-2141
    * You will not be charged for this international call because it is never actually answered.
  2. Hang up after you hear the first ring.
    * If you hear a service announcement such as "This service is not available" or a busy signal try calling from a different phone.
  3. After 20 seconds, your phone will call back. Answer the phone as normal.
    * You will be connected to the ekit phone service.
    * If your phone does not ring back, try calling from a different phone or use our main Callback Access number (44-207-984-2142) for the country you are calling from
  4. When prompted, enter your ekit account number and PIN.
  5. Press 2 at the Main menu to make a call.
  6. Enter the country code (e.g. 1 for US), area code (without the leading 0) and phone number of the person you wish to call, then press # to be connected.

Making collect calls

Don't have a credit card? ekit's Collect call (Reverse charge call service) is an easy and convenient way to phone home.

Call family and friends in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom*, Germany or Japan, even if you don't have any credit on your phonecard account.

To speak to a Collect call operator:

  1. Dial the access number for the country you are in.
  2. Enter 46555# when prompted for your account number.

The Collect call service requires the recipient of the call to accept call charges. Speak to a Collect call Operator for information regarding collect call rates.
* Collect calls to the United Kingdom can only be made from the United States and Canada at this time.
